Storozhenko ends his piece with this nicely formulated paragraph:

The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomor was instituted in the Ukraine 20 years ago.  Not in order to (actually) honor their memories, but in order to win an election.  And so it has remained ever since:  An annual injection of lies and hatred.
