Florida sheriff says he’ll deputize gun owners if department can’t handle protesters

Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels released a three-minute video of himself standing with 18 deputies in which he condemned Black Lives Matter demonstrators as a godless group “making themselves a spectacle disrupting what we know to be our quality of life in this country.”

“If we can’t handle you, I’ll exercise the power and authority as the sheriff, and I’ll make special deputies of every lawful gun owner in this county and I’ll deputize them for this one purpose to stand in the gap between lawlessness and civility,” Daniels said in the video. “That’s what we’re sworn to do. That’s what we’re going to do. You’ve been warned.”

Coronavirus Brings American Decline Out in the Open

The U.S.’s decline started with little things that people got used to. Americans drove past empty construction sites and didn’t even think about why the workers weren’t working, then wondered why roads and buildings took so long to finish. They got used to avoiding hospitals because of the unpredictable and enormous bills they’d receive. They paid 6% real-estate commissions, never realizing that Australians were paying 2%. They grumbled about high taxes and high health-insurance premiums and potholed roads, but rarely imagined what it would be like to live in a system that worked better.

Israel awaits US authorization to annex West Bank

Anyway, the reactions have already started. Multitudes of Palestinians yesterday occupied the West Bank territory that was planned to be annexed. The aim was to form a great barrier against the Israeli army through a mass protest. Even though the operation has not been carried out, the Israeli armed forces can see a small harbinger of the strong resistance they will face with the Palestinians. In fact, it is impossible to carry out the annexation without the cost of many lives, increasing the delicacy of the case.
