China will play a major role in the new emerging world order – not a One World Order, as a small western elite envisions, but a new paradigm built on partnership, on equality on building bridges, instead of walls, avoiding and resolving conflicts peacefully and without violence. Call it a new Social Contract to span the world for all those who are interested in participating. The corona crisis is gradually bringing an awakening for a new consciousness, one that we always had but got buried in the rush of things – greed, power, comfort and also neglect for the less privileged and destitute.

Even before World War I ended, the Allies found another war. Thousands of Allied troops landed at four areas around Russia to restore the monarchy and crush a populist revolution. The United States sent 8000 soldiers to Siberia, Canada sent 5000, the UK 1500, and Japan 70,000. The plan had little chance for success and troops were lucky to escape in 1920.

At a time when some people are expressing convoluted comments and even worries about China-Russia relations, Putin has voiced that Russia regards relations with China as the top foreign policy priority. In kind, the Chinese leader resolutely affirms the importance of China-Russia relations.

Some people are worried that under the context of the deterioration of China-US relations, Russia will be drawn by the US to its side. In the sense Russia would become a pawn for the US to contain China. This concern is superfluous.
