U.S. unlikely to work with Jewish supremacist expected to be made Israeli minister

Behind the scenes: U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan hinted at the possibility of not working with Ben-Gvir and other right-wing extremists during their meetings last week with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in the daily briefing Wednesday that the relationship between Israel and the U.S. is strong because it is based on shared interests and values.

Doubt it! They’ll still get $3.8 billion+ military aid, every year!

Sen. Cramer to Ukraine: Don’t fear a GOP-led Congress

Sen. KEVIN CRAMER (R-N.D.) doesn’t want Ukraine to worry that a Republican-led Congress means less support for its war against Russia.

The Senate Armed Services Committee member said the “blank check” comment by his colleague, KEVIN McCARTHY (R-Calif.), the presumptive speaker of the House should Republicans prevail in the midterms, was taken out of context.

July, huh?!

Screenshot from Congressional Progressive Caucus Letter

“The letter was drafted several months ago, but unfortunately was released by staff without vetting. As Chair of the Caucus, I accept responsibility for this. Because of the timing, our message is being conflated by some as being equivalent to the recent statement by Republican Leader McCarthy threatening an end to aid to Ukraine if Republicans take over. The proximity of these statements created the unfortunate appearance that Democrats, who have strongly and unanimously supported and voted for every package of military, strategic, and economic assistance to the Ukrainian people, are somehow aligned with Republicans who seek to pull the plug on American support for President Zelensky and the Ukrainian forces.

Mark Pocan’s Tweet

Saw someone comment, on this video, about how the letter couldn’t have been written in July—or something like that (I didn’t screenshot it, unfortunately, and can’t find it now). I totally missed the part, in the letter, about the annexations. Referenda were September 23-27. Letter was released October 24. That’s only one month (Go figure, the first one to notice was a NAFO troll)! Haven’t been able to find anyone that pointed this out in any articles, just Tweets. On another note, Kevin McCarthy didn’t say that he was going to end military aid! They’re taking him out of context!

Sharp wind from the Bundestag

People who try to report on the war in Ukraine from the Russian side or who try to provide humanitarian aid to those in need in the new Russian territories are excluded from public discourse. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are becoming hollow concepts. In the future, anyone who says something that looks like a “playing down of Russian war crimes” can be punished for “incitement of the people” according to a legislative amendment passed by the Bundestag in summary proceedings on Thursday. Someone Decides To Say Something Less Stupid About Rainbow Fentanyl… And It’s A Cop

“I don’t think that people will be giving out fentanyl pills as candy, that doesn’t make sense from an addicts perspective that they treasure something so valuable,” said Officer Roman Trujilo, KPD. “However, with all of the candy out there, there are potential users that might have purchased these pills and if they have them around and their kids come across them, that could be absolutely deadly.
