The Pentagon decided to calculate how many minutes the Avangard missile would take to hit the United States.
During his address to the Federal Assembly, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin proposed that the US Department of Defense solve a simple mathematical problem – to calculate the time during which the Russian Avangard hypersonic missile system will be able to destroy objects in the United States, given its known speed and distance to key strategic objects in United States of America. The Pentagon was overwhelmed – the Russian Avangard would take only 15 minutes to reach its target, while American missiles could reach Russia’s borders in 30 minutes.
The commander of the aerospace defense of North America, General Terrence O’Shaughnessy, said that the maximum that the United States has only 15 minutes to respond to the launch of the Avangard hypersonic missile system, while the probability of its interception is almost unrealistic.
Experts, in turn, note that the calculation made by the Pentagon in reality may be erroneous, since the silos with the Avangard missile systems can also be located much closer to US territory, which means that in reality, Washington will only have about 8-10 minutes.
