The claim that the photo shows a student dormitory in China
A photo shared on social media allegedly showed a student dormitory in China. It was claimed that the students slept in nine-story bunk beds.
Images are from a comedy skit.
When we search the photo via reverse image search, we can access the original source. The video was produced for humor purposes. The owner of the video is a profile named Yedi Orangutan. The video was shared by the same account on both Douyin (the name given to TikTok in China) and BiliBili, a video sharing site in China, with the question “How many toes are there in our bed?” Shared with the title:
Douyin: How many toes do we have in our bed?
The owner of the video introduces himself as a “funny video creator” on his Douyin profile and as a “Funny video master” on his BiliBili profile. When we examine both profiles, there are humor videos he shot.
He also shows off his own dorm room in other videos. The beds in those videos consist of two-story bunk beds, not nine-story as in the photo.
We reached out to the video owner to get more details about the confirmed video, but did not receive a response.
We continue our research with other student dormitories in China. Some news sites shared detailed information about the sizes of the beds in the dormitories, the floors of the bunk beds and even the materials used. According to the news here, it is stated that the bunk beds are generally two-story.
Posts containing false information about China are frequently shared on social media. Some images were previously shared with false explanations, and Teyit denied these claims.

On another note, after a few years of work, I might have got the Chicago Public Library to begin the process of not allowing Falun Gong to use their branches as distribution points for Epoch Times. That’s a whole story, but yeah, Falun Gong uses the various city branches to distribute their garbage and I’ve complained to the point that they’ve written reports on me. But one person in the administrative chain of command has grasped that they aren’t simply some oppressed Chinese community sharing the news from the homeland…

Thanks! I remember, a few years back, seeing a video of Laowhy86 and Winston with one of the “Two Michaels” who were exchanged for the CEO of Huawei. He owned an NGO that focused on the DPRK and worked with Dennis Rodman. They removed the video from their YouTube! I’ll have to look into the other guy that you mentioned! The 86Laowhy, that I link to, is another expat that actually lives in China and debunks those other clowns’ videos. Glad to hear that you were able to get your library to stop distributing Epoch Times garbage!
