Originally titled, “Does anyone recognize this flag?”
I was going through my father’s photos (see after the cut), last night, from when he was in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. I had assumed that he was an E-5, but he may have only been an E-3. We kids were told not to mention his service because of his PTSD, so I never asked him. I thought that I had his service records (I know where to request them, if I have to) because I found out which ship he was on many years ago. Unfortunately, it slips my mind now. I have a T-shirt in storage, with their patch on it. I’ll have to look for it, soon.

Anyway, I can’t seem to find out what flag it is. I tried a reverse image search, but it only brought up the Flag of the United States. The only picture that did come up, looked edited.

He refers to the USS Cadmus (AR-14) in the above photo. The USS Cadmus was a repair vessel that originally was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. It relocated to Newport, Rhode Island, in 1964 and was decommissioned in September 1971.

For some reason, I thought that he was Seabee. I don’t know where the above photos were taken.

If anyone recognizes him, please do not comment, but email me through my contact page. If you know what flag, is above, feel free to comment. Thanks, in advance! I’m going to sleep, soon!
Could be a version of the US General Washington’s Headquarters Flag Washington’s HQ Flags and Accessories – CRW Flags Store in Glen Burnie, Maryland
