1. Political AsylumAs you may have seen, I was recently awarded political asylum in Russia. If you’ve seen it in western media, you’ll have seen something like this –
:))
The reality is that since Donbass became Russia, in September 2022, of course I’ve had to be here on legal grounds, and with all visa options having expired, political asylum was the only option, and something I had grounds to apply for given my sanctioning by the UK Government. The irony is that the UK Government sanctioned me to try to stop my work from Donbass, yet it’s their sanctions which have given me no option but to stay in Donbass, continue doing my reportage, were it not for sanctions then I’dve had no option but to return to the UK in late 2022, get a new Russian visa, see if the authorities would even let me leave the UK. As it is, I’m here in Donbass, Russia, a place I love, doing what I love, reportage. And of course political asylum in Russia is much more to me than a ‘limitless visa’, it’s something I’m hugely grateful to Russia for. My own country has tried to make my life a nightmare with sanctions, and indeed although it’s not something I like to go on about, indeed sanctions have caused me a huge amount of problems, created all kinds of stress, difficulties for my family in the UK, making maintaining relationships there impossible, and turning my life from a working independent journalist into a fight for survival when you’ve been cut off from the entire financial system, your own government has made you a non-person, given you a criminal punishment without any term, all for the ‘crime’ of showing the truth from Donbass. And, of course the huge amount of work required to try to fight those sanctions, through the utterly corrupt UK judicial system – Telegram – and on next, next year I hope, to the European Court of Human Rights, where we’ll see if there are indeed any rights for those on the ‘non-approved’ side…..
2. New Reportage
It’s been a pleasure to do recent reportage for you from both Donetsk, and Mariupol, from Donetsk here –

And Mariupol here –USA Elections…. Russian Donbass Business as Usual!
And we go on from Donbass!
3. Supporting my Work
As I remain under sanctions, we have had to be creative in finding ways for you to support my work. I’d once again like to express my absolutely enormous gratitude to everyone who supports my work, as neither my work, nor I would be here without you!!
Very best wishes once more, from Donbass!!Graham
