What was your favorite subject in school?
Literature in grade school and English in high school were easily my favorite subjects. I’ve always had a profound love for reading and writing. In fact, I was consistently a grade ahead of my classmates in both. I remember being so bored in Kindergarten that I often got into trouble, until my teacher realized my reading comprehension was already at a first-grade level and adjusted my curriculum. Beyond language arts, I also deeply enjoyed art class. The reason I didn’t learn Spanish in high school (the only language offered at my small school) was partly because my art class schedule conflicted, and partly because I had a youthful, snobbish desire to learn French or German instead.
All of this eventually led to my associate degree in Visual Communications.
