Liberty Sparks, in collaboration with TGNP and other stakeholders, invites young journalists and those who wish to develop their careers to participate in a free journalism training course as part of Uhuru Economic Week, which will be held on December 1, 2025 from 03:00 AM to 07:00 PM. The training aims to improve reporting skills, increase understanding of economic issues, and build the capacity of journalists to produce news that stimulates public debate on policy and development.
Participants are expected to learn how to write and produce news that informs and makes a positive contribution to society. They will also be equipped with skills in writing analytical news, opinion pieces, and investigative reports. The training will help journalists gain an understanding of how the media influences public debates on policy and development issues, as well as learn from experienced journalists through case studies. Practical exercises include writing headlines, op-eds, and pilot reports on economic issues, while networking takes place during coffee breaks and breakout sessions.
For the media, the benefits include providing quality and analytical news on economic and policy issues, having journalists with advanced analytical and investigative skills, and strengthening the network of journalists with strong professional skills.
