My Favorite Places I’ve Visited

Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

When I think about the places I’ve visited, the list isn’t long. Travel hasn’t been a big part of my life, especially since my twenties when I was working at Hardee’s. Back then, I had the chance to travel for work, attending management courses in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was memorable—those trips marked a time when I was learning and growing in ways that shaped me.

On vacation, I managed a few trips that stand out. Wisconsin Dells was one of them. While the town is famous for its waterparks and tourist buzz, my visit was different. I spent time shopping and exploring the restaurants instead. It wasn’t about thrill rides or slides—it was about slowing down, enjoying good food, and wandering through the shops.

Chicago was another. I don’t remember how many times I went there—mostly on class trips—but one visit with my family sticks out. We were headed to one of the museums, and somewhere along the way, we got lost. It’s funny how those little moments of confusion become part of the memory, almost more vivid than the destination itself.

In my early thirties, I had a different kind of journey. I spent a day at Circle Sanctuary with my witchcraft mentor, working in the library. That visit wasn’t about sightseeing—it was about connection, learning, and being part of something meaningful.

Another favorite spot was the Milwaukee County Zoo. I’ve always loved animals, and spending time there felt joyful and grounding.

Looking back, I realize I haven’t traveled far—Illinois and Wisconsin are the only states I’ve really explored. But each place I’ve visited carries its own story, its own rhythm. They may not be faraway destinations, but they are woven into the fabric of my life.
