Also just wanted to note bc I couldn’t include this in the full video but liberal identity politics is essentially a bourgeois liberal distortion of the Combahee River Collective’s radical concept of identity politics, which very much does acknowledge the intertwined nature of the many systems of oppression and emphasizes the importance of their own experiences as Black women in shaping their radical politics. You can look up their statement on identity politics online or read Elite Capture to learn more about that. Bourgeois liberal identity politics sucks tho which is what I’m talking about here lol. Also Trump is peak messy bisexual I fear.
