Expectations, desires [October/2013 – Pandora’s Jar]

(English rendering)

Expectations, desires, hopes, beliefs.

Big expectations, big disappointments.

Expectations, anxiety. Agitation.

Like someone drowning in the Mariana Trench.

The Mariana Trench — an abyss of expectations.

Lower expectations, smaller disappointments.

Expectation and disappointment. Disillusion, all together.

Deeply. Abyss. Marianas.

Kept inside so they don’t escape.

To get out of there — not coming back anytime soon. Maybe not going at all.

Anger, rage, nerves.

Feeling frustrated. More expectations.

Every day new ones, renewed ones.

Insisting. Believing, credulous, overflowing with faith.

More illusions, more dreams, nightmares becoming real.

A disoriented mind, agitation.

Like someone drowning in the Mariana Trench.

The Mariana Trench — an abyss of expectations.

Birthplace, right there beside the source of wealth.

Wealth that vanished, leaving nothing. Preto — once a rich village.

Not even a trace left, here or there. Easy come, easy go.

The passage of Mariana.

The bandstand, the music band, memories.

All the time, memories console.

A past that’s already far away. Far in time.

Memories, reminiscences.

Remembering doesn’t bring expectations.

Remembering is not projecting.

So many people — coffee, lunch, snack, dinner, late‑night coffee.

Low expectations, few frustrations.

Expectations, anxiety.

Agitation. Like someone drowning in the Mariana Trench.

The Mariana Trench — an abyss of expectations.

Receive the blessings. Just receive them and know how to give thanks.

A hug, and happiness. Always.
