The United States has turned Latin America and the Caribbean into a key battlefield in its new cold war on China and Russia, invoking the 200-year-old colonialist Monroe Doctrine to justify aggressive interventionist policies.

Wanting Peace With Russia To Focus Aggressions On China Is Just Being An Imperialist Warmonger

Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz criticized the Biden administration’s dangerous escalations against Russia on the House floor on Monday, not because he thinks needlessly ramping up cold war brinkmanship with a nuclear-armed nation is an insane thing to do, nor because he believes the US government should cease trying to dominate the world by constantly working to subvert and undermine any nation who disobeys its commands, but because he wants US aggressions to be focused more on China.

Chile’s new president, however, is far from a radical and has gone out of his way to distance himself from other socialist governments currently under American attack. He has long been a critic of Venezuela and the administration of Nicolas Maduro. Anti-Asian hate is a symptom of intensifying capitalist reaction
Capital can be resilient. Far more resilient than many revolutionaries have anticipated. Marx predicted that communist revolutions would initially come in the countries where the productive forces are most developed. But save for the eastern part of Germany at the cost of a catastrophic war, none of the core imperialist countries have so far undergone such revolutions. In these places, capital has held on in the face of multiple world wars, depressions, and pandemics, allowing them to continue holding back revolutions in most other places through imperialist meddling.

Covid hit the working class hardest, but the traditional Left is deaf to their problems. Enter the populist Left
A real Left would have redirected this anger at the profiteers and politicians who failed the workers, giving them only crumbs in the form of stimulus payments. A worker-focused Left would argue for the appropriation of corporate delivery systems like Amazon for basic necessities if they wanted people to stay home, end evictions, protect wages, support those who continued to work, and much more. None of that happened, but at least Mr. Potato Head is now gender neutral. Tell that to the next class reductionist who wants to be protected from eviction!
