Regarding, my earlier post: MoA, apparently, has an unpopular analysis among independent analysts. Personally, I don’t think it matters what anyone else thinks about it, except for Russia. I’m just presenting a machine translation (my German is limited to guten tag) of everything Merkel said regarding the topic. The collective West is in their own twisted version of an anti-Russian Cultural Revolution rabidly vilifying and demonizing Russia to an extent never even dreamt of in the first Cold War, with Russian citizens being banned from international sporting and music events held in the West for the crime of being Russian, the attempt to cancel Russian culture to the extent that Russian composers and literature are being censored out of university curriculums and performances, and absurdly enough even Russian-breed cats and trees being excluded from competitions and Russian salad dressing (which has nothing at all to do with Russia) being renamed.

One of the first questions put to me by a reader via the Comments function with respect to Monday’s report of my initial impressions after arriving in St Petersburg was: and what is the general mood of people? I begged off answering, saying that I would have to speak to a lot more people before I could confidently answer that question.
