BLM for Thee, but Not for Me

In Washington’s eyes, the point of funding Black, indigenous, LGBT or other minority groups in enemy countries is not simply to promote tensions there; it is also to create a narrative that will help convince liberals and leftists in the United States to support American intervention.

In his intervention, Pradel Henriquez, the Minister of Communication declared “[…] we recall that there is a state of siege which was set up this morning […] it is a measure that the Government took on a situation of great danger […] today we have men with large weapons who have landed on a territory which is not theirs, they are not Haitian, it is true that there were Haitians with them […] it is foreigners who speak English and Spanish who entered the house of an elected President, and he had done nothing to deserve this fate […]” Henriquez stressed that the current police operation could last all night until the attackers are routed. – Source.

CHALLENGES FOR SOCIAL MOVEMENTS NOW THAT TRUMP HAS BEEN DEFEATED

CHALLENGES FOR SOCIAL MOVEMENTS NOW THAT TRUMP HAS BEEN DEFEATED

The ways we overcome these obstacles are by being aware of these tactics and countering them. We should not allow excuses or false solutions to weaken our demands for what we require. We need to recognize false demons and find ways to reassure people they will be better off with the changes we are championing. We need to show solidarity when members of the movement are under attack. And we need to build networks of support for each other, whether it is mutual aid or self defense.
