Now to push myself to finish The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State.

Today Russians are set to head to the polls for their country’s presidential election over three days – with only one expected outcome. Incumbent President Vladimir Putin will win comfortably. The Russian president is elected by direct popular vote. If no candidate receives over 50% of the vote, then a second round is held between the two most popular candidates three weeks later. It’s the first time that multi-day voting has been used in a Russian presidential election, as well as the first allowing voters to cast ballots online.

Russia’s war economy is holding up. Wages have soared by double digits, the rouble is relatively stable and poverty and unemployment are at record lows. For the country’s lowest earners, salaries over the last three quarters have risen faster than for any other segment of society, clocking an annual growth rate of about 20%.
The government is spending massively on social support for families, pension increases, mortgage subsidies and compensation for the relatives of those serving in the military.

Reading update 03-15-2024a
I just finished listening to three chapters of Capitalism and Disability. I haven’t read any more of The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, though. I’m not sure if I’ll get to it, this weekend, or not. I still have to set up my laptop and backup my iPad so that I can reset it.

I just finished listening to two Chapters of Capitalism and Disability and reading one chapter of The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State.
Reading Update: 03-08-2024a
I was able to listen to two Chapters of Capitalism and Disability, earlier. I’ve been experiencing quite a bit of pain, lately. When I’m in pain, I can’t concentrate, so I didn’t even attempt to read The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State. Hopefully, the pain subsides some, soon.
In other news, I found this funny. Fairbanks Morse Defense isn’t far from me, so I liked their Facebook page to stay up-to-date. They make engines for naval vessels. The Little Crappy Ships are the only ones that I’m aware of (one reason why I’m interested in them). In fact, those ships were made at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard up North. Someday, I’ll have to look into Fairbanks Morse’s history.
Anyway, good night or morning, depending on your sleep schedule.

I finished listening to Chapter 9 of Capitalism and Disability. I haven’t attempted reading any of The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State yet. Maybe later tonight.

I listened to Chapters 6, 7, & 8 of Capitalism and Disability, earlier. As for The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, I was able to get through The Monogamous Family. Meanwhile, I’m currently listening to a lecture on Women, the Family, and the Russian Revolution.
Reading Update: 02-29-2024
I started out listening to Chapter 5 of Capitalism and Disability, but ended up reading it instead. I was trying to read along with the audiobook, but ended up reading faster than the narrator. Hopefully, I can get a chapter of The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, in before the end of the day. For now, I’m going to get some rest.
Reading Update: 02-28-2024
I might break down and read chapter five, of Capitalism and Disability, rather than listen to it. The audio is a little over an hour long. As for The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, it’s hard for me to get through. I feel brain-dead reading it, as I’m having a hard time grasping it. That, and it makes me think about my own dysfunctional family growing up.
