The collective West is in their own twisted version of an anti-Russian Cultural Revolution rabidly vilifying and demonizing Russia to an extent never even dreamt of in the first Cold War, with Russian citizens being banned from international sporting and music events held in the West for the crime of being Russian, the attempt to cancel Russian culture to the extent that Russian composers and literature are being censored out of university curriculums and performances, and absurdly enough even Russian-breed cats and trees being excluded from competitions and Russian salad dressing (which has nothing at all to do with Russia) being renamed.

Faina Savenkova: I would not want to live in the kind of “right” society where there is only one side’s opinion.
I didn’t think I would pay attention to the story about YouTube blocking my interview on the channel of British journalist Mike Jones [iEarlGrey]. If you look at what platforms and social networks like YouTube and Facebook and the media in Europe and America have been doing to the Russian channels RT, Sputnik, and many others over the past few years, it comes as no surprise at all. Can you imagine me as a child of Donbass, for example, on CNN? Or the New York Times? Spiegel? I don’t think so. What I and many other war survivors say is of no interest to those publications and platforms, which I’m not surprised about either.

Musk Provides Twitter Censorship Files

Biden’s election proved the usefulness of such a tool. The campaign against Musk’s Twitter will thereby likely intensify. So will his effort to fight back.
More popcorn please.
MoA links to an article by Matt Taibbi re: Hunter’s laptop. Matt points the NYT story, Joe Biden, His Son and the Case Against a Ukrainian Oligarch, which claims that Mykola Zlochevsky was the owner of Burisma Holdings. Zlochevsky did not own Burisma, at the time, Ihor Kolomoisky did! In 2012, Burisma changed owners to Privat Group, which was owned by Kolomoisky. On another note, the following video is interesting (despite Elon’s Starlink connection cutting out often). He claims that Twitter will be dedicated to the truth. Let’s see if he continues censoring people (re: Scott Ritter, Garland Nixon, etc). Like MoA asks, please pass the popcorn!

Twitter Files, Laptopgate, & Ukrainegate go back to the Euromaidan (at least)
Yes, the New York Post story was censored but the story itself wasn’t anything new to me. They may have ‘revealed’ Hunter’s ties to Burisma but they never dug deeper, as to why he was working for them, nor did they reveal that the US government overthrew a democratically-elected government! A Republican-controlled House may investigate it, but they won’t reveal the true reason, because then they’d be implicating themselves (it was a bipartisan venture)! If anything, they’ll make a big deal of Hunter’s dealings with a now-defunct Chinese company to feed into the China-threat hype and provoke another proxy war! Who wins?! The Military Industrial Complex!
Finally, it will be very interesting to see which “independent”, “impartial” and “objective” members of the Mainstream Media cover the Twitter Files, which unlike all that Russia collusion bullshit, was a real and actionable attempt to interfere with US democracy by covering up one of the most explosive political stories of a generation, not to mention an event that would have swayed the 2020 presidential election.

EU says at least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers dead
On 30 November 2022, EU President Ursula von der Leyen announced that at least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died. The announcement was so shocking that the figures were subsequently removed from the official announcement on the European Commission’s website and from the video version of the statement. Here is a look back at the battle over the figures and the attempt to rewrite the story in 1984 style.

The former disinformation czar for President Joe Biden’s administration has apparently landed on her feet after resigning amid controversy earlier this year. She has registered as a foreign agent representing a UK activist group that advocates for censorship of speech it finds objectionable.

Everyone is going to hate this column. Musk worshipers are going to hate it because I’m going to blaspheme against Elon Musk. Musk demonizers are going to hate it because I am not going to blaspheme against him enough. Everyone else is going to hate it because they’re sick to the gills of hearing about Musk, and Musk’s destruction of Twitter, or his salvation of Twitter, and censorship, and “hate speech,” and all that stuff.

EARN IT Act Will Make The Internet Worse For Everyone By Undermining Privacy And Security
To save the children, we must destroy everything. That’s the reality of the EARN IT Act. I mean, you can get some sort of sense of what you’re in store for just by reading the actual words behind the extremely labored acronym: Eliminating Abuse and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies Act. Whew. It’s a mouthful. And, given the name, it seems like this would be Congress putting funding towards supporting moderation efforts that target abusive content.
