NYC ER doctor: I have to ‘plead to test people’ for coronavirus

New York City doctor says he has to ‘plead to test people’ for coronavirus

Commentary:

I admit that we need to be cautious, and prepared, as our current national government doesn’t seem to be on this coronavirus. If we do have a pandemic, it’s going to be hard to get a hold of masks, even. I couldn’t find any, in stock, for 50 miles or any affordable ones, online!

This doctor is in the business of selling vaccines (through books—for being a busy doctor, he has lots of time to review books on influenza and writing them about Superbugs), which I have nothing against vaccines, but don’t like when people mislead you to sell their product.

Wisconsin has the new working tests. We have two labs that are doing the testing, with CDC officials working with them. If Wisconsin can get them, New York should have them. The testing requirements have broadened but not just anyone can get tested. The doctor has to make sure that the patient has been to either China, Iran, South Korea, Japan, or Italy or they’ve had contact with someone who has COVID-19. They can also test their patients if they have all the symptoms and can’t find anything else wrong with them. The tests aren’t cheap, and not all insurance companies will pay for the testing.
