Denial of service attacks, still. Why?

My WordPress still gets attacked, despite my visitors being practically null. As you can see, my visitors have declined by 50% since the attacks started happening. Whoever is doing it has succeeded, but I suppose they aren’t going to stop until my visitors are at zero. FYI, I don’t count the views because most of those are probably mine when I double-check the site or search for a previous post. I’ll admit that it’s discouraged me from posting. Most of the work that I’ve been doing is on YouTube (or Rumble) and working on Google Docs. I need to transfer some documents to my pages soon. Anyway, I appreciate those of you who continue to read my posts! Welcome to my new followers, as well!

It’s interesting, to me, that people are finding my WordPress site via Baidu and Yandex.

The IP has changed but it’s still WordPress’ Automattic.

Update on the status of this blog

Yesterday, I was alerted by Netgear Armor that my device was under a DoS attack when I was trying to access my WordPress. I can only assume that someone has been attacking my site. This would explain why I haven’t been able to access my WordPress, yet I could access other WordPress sites.

This happened when I was trying to access my site. The IP address leads to Automattic, which owns WordPress.

I did some research into protecting my WordPress, from a denial-of-service attack, and there are a few ways to do it. One is with the use of plugins, but now you need at least a Creator account (which is $20 per month) to be able to use plugins with WordPress. Another is by using a content delivery network with DDoS mitigation capabilities. I chose to purchase an inexpensive web hosting plan (I’ve been planning on doing this anyway for the storage) with a CDN and DDoS mitigation.

If my assumption is correct and the cyberattacker(s) sees this, know that I have all of my research backed up. My web hosting service also backs up this blog.

I could just be paranoid, too. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Washington Prepares New Color Revolutions

The Washington-based International Center for Nonviolent Conflict recently released another playbook on color revolutions, called Fostering a Fourth Democratic Wave: A Playbook for Countering the Authoritarian Threat. This center continues the tradition of intervening in the internal affairs of foreign countries in the manner of Gene Sharp, Bruce Ackerman, and other theorists of protest political actions and movements. It should be noted that the executive director of this Center is now Ivan Marovic, one of the leaders of Yugoslav Otpor, who played a key role in the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic.
