So According to Some Democrats, the Left are Terrorists?

Not even a month after he was elected, Joe Biden has already proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no such thing as pushing someone like him to the left after he’s already taken power, and the liberals who insisted it was possible have in interest in even trying. I am not at all surprised that Joe Biden’s cabinet is shaping up to be even worse than I imagined it would be, but to be called “terrorists” for doing nothing more than using our steadily growing organizing abilities and leverage in a last ditch effort to demand better is something that will stay with me for a long time.

The Democrats fear not Trump’s threats of violence and dictatorship, but the mass popular revolt that would be touched off if Trump actually attempts to carry out his long-threatened election coup. The Democrats know very well that America is a social powder keg, deeply divided between the fabulously wealthy financial aristocracy, which both Democrats and Republicans serve, and the vast majority of the population, struggling to survive.

A Biden administration may be prepared to spend a significant amount of money given the scale of the ongoing economic crisis, but we should be under no illusion he will represent any semblance of a progressive agenda. His administration, as well as most Democrats in Congress, will relentlessly attack working people with big business bailouts, handouts to big insurance companies, and opposition to popular policies like Medicare for All. The space for the far right will very likely grow under a Biden administration and Trump may well continue building support for his ideas even if he loses. In fact, a “Trump-unleashed” situation where he is free to rally his base outside the confines of elected office could lead to the creation of a far-right party.
