Ukraine: The Violence Before the Violence

The violence in Ukraine is unimaginable. But before the violence, there was violence.

The military conflict in Ukraine has received an unprecedented amount of media coverage. The major US networks have given more coverage to Russia’s war in Ukraine than they did to America’s war in Iraq. But there were very important military dimensions prior to the war in Ukraine, many of them focussed around the coup of 2014, that have gone almost unreported. The lack of reporting is important because those events played a role in the lead up to the war.

Faina Savenkova: We all want to live, a very simple and understandable desire (Updated)

The appeal of Faina Savenkova and Mira Terada to the march “Rage against the war Machine”

There are not many things that can truly unite different people. Because it’s always the differences that take over. “How?! Do you drink tea in the morning instead of coffee? No, I’m sorry, we don’t see eye to eye. Our views on life are too different.” “Ah! You prefer to walk on the left side of the street?! This is monstrous! The only correct decision is to walk on the right side, and the other choices are wrong! Stay away from me!”

How Ukraine war has shaped US planning for a China conflict

Yes, I do think the US has an eye on instigating a conflict with China.

As the war rages on in Ukraine, the United States is doing more than supporting an ally. It’s learning lessons — with an eye toward a possible clash with China. No one knows what the next U.S. major military conflict will be or whether the U.S. will send troops — as it did in Afghanistan and Iraq — or provide vast amounts of aid and expertise, as it has done with Ukraine. But China remains America’s biggest concern. U.S. military officials say Beijing wants to be ready to invade the self-governing island of Taiwan by 2027, and the U.S. remains the island democracy’s chief ally and supplier of defense weapons.

The More the Class Conflict Escalates, the More Important Anti-Imperialist Principles Become

*Trigger Warning*

Rainer Shea

“This war is not a war between Russians and Ukrainians,” says the Texan Russell Bentley in a documentary interview about why he came to help fight for the Russian side after 2014’s fascist U.S. coup in Ukraine. “It’s not a Ukrainian civil war, it’s really a war between good and evil. It’s a war between genuine Nazis, and normal people.”
