Suspending Russia: A Precedent that Undermines the Credibility of the Human Rights Council

April 8, 2022 BY ALFRED DE ZAYAS

On 7 April the UN General Assembly decided to suspend Russia’s membership in the Human Rights Council. This establishes a destructive precedent not only for the future of the Human Rights Council, but for the future of other United Nations institutions.

Donbass: Patrick Lancaster & Russell “Texas” Bentley

Patrick Lancaster:

US Navy veteran and independent journalist, Patrick Lancaster, has been making regular reports from Ukraine since the beginning of the crisis. His reports reveal that what is happening on the ground is not what Western corporate media would have you believe. “Over the 8 years of the Ukraine War I made more video reports in anti-Ukraine Government (Donetsk People’s Republic) controlled territory than any other western journalist,” he says. – Rhoda Wilson

U.S. Media Decries Brutal Russia Invasion of Ukraine—Yet an Intrepid Reporter Finds that the Russians Were Welcomed as Liberators in the Southern Ukrainian City of Henichesk along the Sea of Azov

[This is a report from Sonja Vandenende, a Dutch journalist who was embedded with Russian troops in southeastern Ukraine. Previously, Sonja reported on the ground in Syria for CAM. Her reporting substantiates that of Patrick Lancaster, a Russian-speaking U.S. Navy veteran whose reporting on the war in Donbass for eight years is respected by investigative journalists. CAM’s mission is to bring to your attention alternative narratives gleaned by eyewitness accounts—even if they could be misconstrued as pro-Russian.—Editors]

These forces must unite to overturn the war program of the White House and Pentagon which only robs the people of their rights to decent housing, education, food, water, environmental justice and all other necessities of modern life. A new foreign policy must be developed which defunds the defense department and dismantles the U.S. bases which are waging war around the globe.

Ukraine Rejects Civilian Passage from Mariupol

This article was published last night by the BBC- You’ll notice the spin that kicks off the report. Russia asked the fighters to lay down their arms and exit Mariupol in order to bring in assistance to the remaining besieged civilians. As has been occurring elsewhere. Ukraine preferred to keep as many civilians as can be held. Mariupol has a great many ethnic Russians residents. Ukraine could care less if they are slaughtered by the fighters or starved because the fighter (ukrainazis) refuse to give them up- Mariupol is home of the notorious Azov battalion. Ukraine – from Euromaidan to Afghanistan

Recently, Douglas MacArthur, a retired colonel and adviser to the US Secretary of Defense in the Trump administration, a multi-decorated war veteran, openly criticized the official policy of Washington, which he said was deliberately trying to transform Ukraine into an Eastern European version of Afghanistan. It is common knowledge that for the United States, war is first and foremost a business, an opportunity to make good money on the long-running bloody conflicts that Washington is fueling worldwide with a global hybrid war against all disobedient nations and ethnic groups. As in all previous wars initiated or sponsored by the USA with the use of these perfidious tactics, Ukraine is also seen as a new great opportunity for the American military-industrial complex controlled by the deep state to make fabulous profits.
