Thousands of sailors get access to trendy weight-loss app in new deal

As of Feb. 1, the Navy is offering the commercial version of Noom free for a year to these sailors in what the service calls its Fitness Enhancement Program. The Navy’s contract with Noom, which is considered a one-year pilot program, is worth $466,560, paid for by excess funds released by Congress last fiscal year for quality of service initiatives.

The perils of job hunting

I’ve been searching for remote work opportunities, and one organization immediately caught my eye. It’s been funded by the European Union, the Ford Foundation, the German International Cooperation Society, Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, the Tides Foundation, UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, and the Global Women’s Institute at the George Washington University, among others. The idea of working for a front organization—while exposing them—would be ironic (not to mention hypocritical).

Such programs continued unperturbed during the First Trump Administration, when a touching project meant to increase transgender visibility in Ukrainian Fashion Week was funded through USAID’s program to “Enhance Non-Governmental Actors and Grassroots Engagement” (ENGAGE) in Ukraine:
