Despite Bannon’s close ties to Guo, Miller said Bannon does not have a formal position with Gettr. Guo’s business dealings with Bannon were reportedly the subject of a federal investigation in connection with fundraising for Guo’s GTV Media Group.

And despite Guo’s anti-China stance, in an outsourcing error, some products were manufactured there, including underwear and socks. A team had to be hired to cut “Made in China” tags out and sew in “Made in L.A.” tags in their place, sources said.

Guo has publicly claimed past ties to Chinese intelligence agencies, stating on YouTube that he delivered messages and carried out work on their behalf in years past. Before Guo left China, the authorities there said that he enjoyed a years-long alliance with senior Chinese intelligence official Ma Jian, who received a life sentence for corruption in 2018.

It is unclear if the material featured on the sites linked to Mr. Guo is the same as that provided to The New York Post by Mr. Giuliani, which Mr. Giuliani said came from a laptop turned over to his lawyer by a computer store owner in Delaware.
