US Embassy in Uganda Runs Clandestine Foreign Interference Program Targeting East African Journalists

Source

The United States Embassy in Kampala, Uganda is actively involved in Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) activities targeting audiences in East Africa. This was the verdict of selected journalists who took part in a secret program it organised in Kampala last week, ostensibly to train them on countering what it terms ‘Russian propaganda and disinformation.’ The clandestine program – where participants were electronically surveiled to ensure they recorded nothing – took place between Monday 19 May and Friday 23 May, 2025 under the theme “Understanding and Countering Russian Propaganda and Disinformation in Uganda.”

Imperialism Waging Genocidal Wars Against Humanity: ‘Israel Lobby as Puppet Master’ Theory

Editorial Comment:  I refer readers to this scholarly, in-depth article by Niloufer Bhagwat that correctly positions Zionism in the imperialist hierarchy: “Contemporary Zionism Pursues its Assigned Role as an Advanced Military and Intelligence Base of Anglo-American, European Imperialism.”

She states in the introduction:

“The real nature of Zionism and the  Zionist Israeli project, which is closely allied to and an extension of Anglo-American and European Imperialist policy and global reach and constitutes an advanced military and intelligence base in occupied Palestine, in the heart of the Middle East, aimed at controlling governments and resources of a wider region, including Iran, the Horn of Africa, East Africa, Central and South Africa, and South Asia and Eurasia… this nature has not been analyzed in depth by jurists, with a few exceptions, for several reasons.”

Zionism is not controlling America or Europe. It is a proxy force deployed by imperialist governments to serve their interests.  The Zionist lobby has undeniable and formidable power, but it exists and its influence is sustained precisely because it serves empire.

[2012] Syria, Yemen, and America’s Quest for Imperial Dominance

Syria, Yemen, and America’s Quest for Imperial Dominance

US interest in Yemen is certainly not rooted in altruism or a desire to promote democratic ideals. On the contrary, it is the application of a long-standing geopolitical strategy to control international trade through the Mandab Strait and Suez Canal, access to African raw materials, and most specifically, block the expansion of Chinese economic influence in both the Middle East and Africa. For these reasons, the United States has a keen interest in both Yemen and Somalia, desperate to maintain chaos in those countries so as to prevent stable, nationalist leaders from emerging. In so doing, Washington once again shows itself to be an imperialist aggressor, interested only in maintaining and expanding the empire.

The Oil chokepoint and other oily affairs

The strategic significance of the region between Yemen and Somalia becomes the point of geopolitical interest. It is the site of Bab el-Mandab, one of what the US Government lists as seven strategic world oil shipping chokepoints. The US Government Energy Information Agency states that “closure of the Bab el-Mandab could keep tankers from the Persian Gulf from reaching the Suez Canal/Sumed pipeline complex, diverting them around the southern tip of Africa. The Strait of Bab el-Mandab is a chokepoint between the horn of Africa and the Middle East, and a strategic link between the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean.” [9]

Chokepoints Are The Focus Of A New Cold War

By Captain John Konrad (gCaptain) In 1883, Alfred Thayer Mahan laid out the brutal truth of global power: Whoever rules the waves rules the world. He wasn’t just talking about fleets of warships. He was talking about chokepoints—the narrow passages through which the vast majority of the world’s trade must pass. Control them, and you don’t need to launch an invasion. You can starve an economy and restrict military sealift without ever firing a shot.

Ansar Allah didn’t target undersea cables

Full video.

At least one subsea fiber cable damaged in the Red Sea, some reports blame Houthi rebels

Last year Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) – a think tank founded by a former Israeli Intelligence officer and a political scientist described as a neoconservative and revisionist Zionist on Wikipedia – said Telegram channels reportedly affiliated with the Houthis had made implied threats against subseas cables in the Red Sea.

New reports suggest a ship attacked by Houthi rebels may have inadvertently cut cables. Some industry observers are suggesting the Rubymar, a cargo ship heavily damaged by a recent Houthi attack, is drifting and its dragging anchor could have caused damage to the cables.

Was Tulsi Gabbard Ever Anti-War?! [no]

Knew the majority, of this, but hadn’t put it all together in one place. New, to me, was her support of the Kurdish militias. I’ll probably duplicate this, onto its own page, where I can add more to it at a later date!

Actually, China’s military isn’t going global

Yesterday, the New York Times published a guest essay by Craig Singleton, a fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, entitled “China’s Military is Going Global.” Singleton argues that Beijing is well on its way to building a globe-spanning network of “strategic strong points along China’s major trade, energy, and resource routes” that pose a dire military threat to the United States.

Western Media’s Double Standards Exposed Amidst Violence Against Eritrean Communities in The West

Late last week, Eritrea Profile published “Words Matter: Double Standards in Mainstream Media,” a well-written article by Afabet Gebretinsae that decries media coverage of the recent spate of crime and terror perpetrated against peaceful Eritrean festivals in cities across the West. Not long after, The Grayzone, an independent news website producing original investigative journalism, released the article, “Western media glorifies TPLF mob violence against Eritrean festivals,” an enlightening commentary that similarly raised critical questions about how mainstream media in the West have reported recent events.
