Pandora’s Box: Hope as Illusion

I learn something new every day. I have Gustavo Horta to thank for sending me back to a story I hadn’t revisited since kindergarten: “Pandora’s Box.”

Daniel Guérin: Fascism and Big Business
The following article is an excerpt from Daniel Guerin’s book on Fascism, the English translation of which is soon to be released by Pioneer Publishers. It is a study of the roots and destiny of Fascism, at once so factual and so thoroughly Marxist in its approach, that no apology for giving it the widest possible publicity is necessary. – EDITORS.

UK: A Working Class Experience of Alien Abduction! (18.11.2025)

The capitalist will say (and do) anything that justifies the endless accumulation of profit. To this end, the emphasis of individualism is vital – as it is through this loss of collective identity that humanity learns to routinely brutalise its own existence and being. Inflicting pain and harvesting gain is the only permitted exchange which locks out all other modes of possible interaction. Love becomes a limited commodity which can be bought for a short time period before the clock runs out and its flow dries up.

Crosspost: Empire in the Mirror

It was a dream, a gilded fire,
built on whispers, woven higher,
streets of silk, a golden crest,
the hands that took, the hearts oppressed.
They smiled—soft, sweet, serene,
a kingdom carved from borrowed dreams,
but mirrors do not lie for long,
the empire’s face was sharp and strong.
A shatter—silver shards that gleam,
truth cut deeper than the dream,
and in the dust, the voices rose,
the stolen lands, the fractured throne.
No banners left, no songs remain,
the wrong, the right, the ash, the rain.
Time will teach what power hides—
the face of conquest, stripped of pride.
