If you believe that Donald Trump & Co represent the working class, congratulations! They’ve successfully pulled the wool over your eyes! Trump’s tax cuts benefitted the rich and his tariffs (and Biden’s) hurt American consumers, not China!

The author is right about one thing—“fear”. The xenophobic fearmongering about illegal immigrants is outlandish, considering Biden has been deporting them on par with Trump (not to mention the ones being detained at GTMO)!

Fort Benning – New Name, Same Shame

As of Thursday May 11, 2023, “Fort Benning,” home of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) became “Fort Moore.” The name change was part of a broader initiative by the U.S. military to remove the names of Confederate officers from military bases at the recommendation of a congressional commission.

This past February, anti-war organizers had a modest gathering on the steps of the Lincoln memorial to protest against militarism. The Rage Against the War Machine rally as it was called was unique of its kind, as figures from across the political spectrum put aside ideological differences to come together to speak against empire and war. About three thousand people turned out, which is admittedly small compared to antiwar protests in the past. It wasn’t the pictures you see during the Vietnam War protests where bodies are compacted shoulder to shoulder around the entire permitter of the Capitol Reflecting Pool stretching all the way back to the Lincoln monument. Perhaps there wasn’t the same type of publicly or word of mouth enthusiasm behind anti-war events as there once was.
