It was extremely difficult to witness the charred and twisted remains of Ukrainian POWs in the Yelenovka detention center at first hand. The stench of death was overwhelming. Bodies remained in the ruins and melted into the metal bunk beds they were on at the time of the bombing.

Samizdat – 30.07.2022 MOSCOW – Russia has invited experts from the United Nations and the Red Cross to participate in the investigation into the deadly shelling of the pre-trial detention center in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) town of Elenovka, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In the mid-90s, a mass grave was discovered in the Sinai Peninsula, with the bodies of hundreds of Egyptian soldiers who were executed by Israel without trial during their occupation of the region.
Another mass grave, in the Red Sea town of Ras Sedr, was discovered in the year 2000. It held the remains of 52 Egyptian prisoners executed by Israeli paratroopers during the Six-Day War.
This is suffering that numbers can’t capture, but it should remind us that war is a form of terrorism.

Then follows a ceasefire, the media move on and Israel resumes the daily routine of low level evictions, destruction of tree crops, imprisonments and murders that accomplishes the gradual extinction of the territories that the Western powers pretended to intend for a Palestinian state.
