So much propaganda to sift through!?! 🙄

U.S. privately asks Ukraine to show it’s open to negotiate with Russia

The request by American officials is not aimed at pushing Ukraine to the negotiating table, these people said. Rather, they called it a calculated attempt to ensure the government in Kyiv maintains the support of other nations facing constituencies wary of fueling a war for many years to come.

The discussions illustrate how complex the Biden administration’s position on Ukraine has become, as U.S. officials publicly vow to support Kyiv with massive sums of aid “for as long as it takes” while hoping for a resolution to the conflict that over the past eight months has taken a punishing toll on the world economy and triggered fears of nuclear war.

Steve Bannon Calls On Brazil’s Bolsonaro To Not Concede

After a tight race, Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva will become the next president of Brazil. The far-left former Brazilian president won 50.83 percent of the vote, with over 98 percent of votes counted in the extremely tight run-off election on Sunday. Incumbent Jair Bolsonaro won 49.17 percent of the vote, compared to 50.83 by Lula da Silva, who was convicted in 2017 for money laundering though a court threw out his conviction in March 2021.

Brazilian Anarchist expert reveals Social War behind key Lula / Bolsonaro Vote

Despite the glowing picture that progressives and social democrats paint of Lula, it was under the PT (Worker’s Party) that Brazil’s government made its turn toward austerity. Given that this will likely be a second term in office for him, how effective do you think left organizations and movements will be at wringing concessions from a Lula-led PT government?

Yet, Lula will likely not seek major changes that would jeopardize current U.S.-Brazil relations.

Morgenstern adds that, “with Biden, Lula would have an ally with some tension … his interest (in the U.S.) has always been purely economic,” but “Lula’s friends are enemies of even the American left … the communist dictatorships of Latin America, China, Russia, the Palestinian Authority.”

Derosa argues, “the political forces represented by Lula are anti-American by definition,” yet he notes that, “Lula is skilled in negotiations and has always maintained a posture of dialoguing with everyone. He wouldn’t make a trade break, but he will certainly prefer multilateral relations … he would hardly break with the U.S., even more so while the United States is governed by the Democratic Party.”

As to why Lula’s close association with dictatorships has never been wielded against him in Brazil, Morgenstern sees a significant difference between parties in Brazil and elsewhere: “The Brazilian ideological left really believes that ‘social inequality’ is the biggest problem in the universe, so it is a declared fan of dictatorships (Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua), unlike the American left.”

So much wrong with these analyses. I found no evidence that Russia, or the PA, are communist and many would argue that China is communist in name only. As for dictatorships, the Democrats love them! Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, UAE?! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Blinken heads to Latin America after Venezuelans and Colombians Celebrate the ‘Historical’ Reopening of Border

Secretary of State Antony Blinken will head next week to Colombia and Chile to forge ties with new left-leaning leaders elected in the historic US allies, the State Department announced Friday.

The secretary will later travel to Peru for a meeting of the Organization of American States and separately meet with President Pedro Castillo and other top officials.

In Colombia, Blinken will discuss “supporting strong democratic governments and respect for human rights throughout the Western Hemisphere,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said.

On his last visit to Colombia in October 2021 and later at a US-led summit in Los Angeles, Blinken has encouraged regional cooperation to address migration, a key political issue in the United States for Biden.
