*Following is a lengthy overview of my recent re-visit to the Donbass, on a two day media delegation, with a brief critique of some of the media’s slanted reporting. It is also a follow up from my 2019 visit to hard hit areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic. It is now 8 years of Ukraine’s war on the people of the Donetsk & Lugansk Republics.

Dunn said that after a supply run to Poland, he decided to join up with a new unit in Ukraine, and he remains “willing to give you my all.” But Hoeft disputed this account: He alleged in a since-deleted Instagram Story that Dunn was kicked out of the Georgian National Legion for his involvement with extremist groups in the U.S. and is now serving with a far-right contingent of the Ukrainian guard whose flag has been championed by white supremacists across the world.

On Wednesday, War is Boring relayed information that wounded foreign fighters were being fatally shot by their own in order to prevent them from falling into Russian hands.
“They don’t try and help you,” one source told War is Boring’s editor, Andy Wolf. “If you’re hit, you are finished.”
Similar accounts were also relayed on Telegram, confirming the source’s firsthand accounts.
“Foreign mercenaries who were wounded in the #Volnovakha hospital were shot by their own before leaving the city so that they could not tell anything. All shot in the temple or the back of the head,” Mango Press reported, “According to Yan Gagin, an adviser to the head of the government of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”

On February 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a plea for foreigners to fight against the Russian military. In a statement, Zelensky said, among other things, that “This is not just Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This is the beginning of a war against Europe, against European structures, against democracy, against basic human rights, against a global order of law, rules and peaceful coexistence.” He added: “Anyone who wants to join the defense of Ukraine, Europe and the world can come and fight side by side with the Ukrainians against the Russian war criminals.”

In this extremely short and simplistic post, I will do what it says on the tin: Scrape away the already deeply impacted layers of wartime propaganda[1]. I propose to do this in the old-fashioned American way: By following the money. (I was inspired to write this post by Gonzalo Lira, former NC contributor (!), streaming from Kharkiv (!!). His video, “Who Is Zelensky? A Puppet—and Here’s Why,” is perceptive, lucid, and convincing, albeit NSFW. I recommend you listen to it, on the off chance that the more hits this video has, the more of a public figure — hence, safer — Lira will be.)

As the conflict continues on it’s fourth day, the disinformation campaign is out in full swing. With left wing pundits advocating for a full scale US intervention, and the corporate hacks of the political right rejecting such an idea. This has led to an onslaught of misinformation and even, outright propaganda over all viral media as well as television. But underneath the surface of rancid, media obfuscation lies an even far more nefarious history. The Central Intelligence Agency’s history with Ukraine spans decades, where one covert program (Operation Aerodynamic) saw to exploit the anti-Soviet Ukrainian resistance groups that were late found to have conducted war crime atrocities. The primary contact in the operation involved, Mykola Lebed, a Ukrainian nationalist who was alleged to have been collaborating with Nazi Germany after he was freed from prison, in 1939 as Germany invaded Poland, for the murder of Polish Interior Minister Bronislaw Pieracki in 1934. Lebed worked for the CIA in American where he gathered intelligence on the Soviet Union as late as into the late 1960s.
Fast forward to the current period, and the CIA activities involving far right neo nazi groups, such as the Azov Battalion, have been a large covert operation meant to combat Russian military in the disputed territories of Luhansk and Donetsk. The program, which started in 2015, is based at an undisclosed facility in the Southern U.S., according to some of those officials. By 2014, the CIA’s Ground Division began training Ukrainian guerillas after Russia annexed Crimea, the program began to expand under the Trump administration, and currently the program augmented under the current Biden administration. In this video i expand on the CIA influence which span decades with the government of Ukraine.
