On September 21, 2021, Myanmar’s National Unity Government (NUG), a government-in-exile formed by supporters of former state counselor Aung San Suu Kyi declared a “people’s defensive war” against the Tatmadaw (another name for the armed forces of Myanmar). Suu Kyi’s party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), was overthrown by the Tatmadaw in February 2021. On a video broadcast on Facebook, NUG acting president Duwa Lashi La declared a “public revolution” against military “terrorists”. This declaration of open war comes after months of sporadic armed resistance by various anti-government civilian militias and ethnic militias.

Tedros is Playing the Race Card to Revive Western Support for Terrorism Against Ethiopia
By Andrew Korybko
He’s immorally taking advantage of the Western population’s growing awareness of their authorities’ racist policies to manipulate perceptions in order to mislead that targeted audience into wrongly thinking that their governments’ scaling back of support for the TPLF is due to racism against Tigrayans when it was actually their tangible support for that group’s divide-and-rule agenda against the historically cosmopolitan civilization-state of Ethiopia that was the epitome of racism.

Manufacturing Consent: How the United States Has Penetrated South African Media
The CIA has played a role in controlling South African media from the days of apartheid to the present.
In recent weeks, South African public discourse has been focused on concerns about alleged Chinese influence in the country’s media landscape. However, these conversations have tended to overlook the already existing spheres of influence within South African media. Politically motivated sponsorship of prominent South African media outlets by the United States dates back decades to the apartheid era. According to internal U.S. government documents, the aim of these operations was “to counter the strong Marxist campaigns” in the country. This funding was circulated by the National Endowment for Democracy, an organization created by the Reagan administration in order to re-brand U.S. covert operations that were previously carried out by the Central Intelligence Agency. Today, as Washington becomes fixated on combating Beijing’s influence around the world, the National Endowment for Democracy and its private sector partners continue to penetrate large swathes of the South African media ecosystem. This web of influence has caught major publications, including Mail & Guardian newspaper and amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism.

Can We Please Have an Adult Conversation about China?
A new kind of madness is seeping into global political discourse, a poisonous fog that suffocates reason. This fog, which has long marinated in old, ugly ideas of white supremacy and Western superiority, is clouding our ideas of humanity. The general malady that ensues is a deep suspicion and hatred of China, not just of its current leadership or even the Chinese political system, but hatred of the entire country and of Chinese civilisation – hatred of just about anything to do with China.

Zelensky Told Americans That His Country Should Be More Important To Them Than Their Own
It’s understandable why people would be offended by a foreign leader telling them to place his country’s interests above their own and to not care about inflation. It’s beyond disrespectful after they’ve already suffered enough to help him. Zelensky isn’t ever happy, however, unless he hears about more wealth being redistributed from Americans to Ukrainians.

Hotter than the Sun: Finally, a Book Worth Reading

Review by Joseph Solis-Mullen | Mises Institute | July 15, 2022
The top seller on Amazon for books devoted to war and peace as of this writing, Scott Horton’s newest offering, Hotter than the Sun: Time to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, is a timely must read. As Washington barrels heedlessly along into Cold War II, the American public badly needs educating on the current risks, past close calls, and the utter insanity of an entire for-profit industry built on the flawed concept of thousands of thermonuclear bombs as “weapons” that keep us safe.

Deep in the murder of former Prime Minister Abe
July 10, 2022 | Sakai Tanaka
The main point of the case in which Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister, was murdered on July 8 was that Abe was the mastermind and fixer who controls the LDP. After Abe retired from the prime minister two years ago, Yoshihide Suga, who succeeded him, and Fumio Kishida, who is now the prime minister, will be the prime minister. At that time, I created a system in which Abe’s intentions have a great influence. Since his prime ministerial era, Abe has continued to be subordinate to the United States while maintaining intimacy with China, transforming Japan into a “US-China” stance. While Abe takes on China’s hostile measures such as the US “Indo-Pacific”, he tries to cooperate without hostile to China in bilateral relations between Japan and China, and the world hegemony structure will change from the conventional US single system to many in the future. Even if it is converted to the polar type, Japan has been able to do it. (Abe’s Japan, which did not follow the US’s view of China and was neutralized)

The Malian Junta Isn’t A “Defensively Nationalist Regime” But An African Pioneer
The Malian example strikes fear in the hearts of Western leaders since it makes them suspect that some of the same men tasked with enforcing their neo-colonial regimes in West Africa might secretly be anti-imperialist freedom fighters plotting to overthrow these unjust systems from within like that country’s junta clearly was in hindsight.
