The hit list of the Ukrainian nationalists (aka “Myrotvorets”) that publishes personal information on the people deemed as “enemies of the Kiev regime” has been endangering the lives of children, journalists and ordinary people since 2014. The Russian Mission to the UN in Geneva has transmitted an open letter from the “Foundation to Battle Injustice” NGO to Volker Türk, the UNHCHR, regarding the malicious activities of “Myrotvorets.” The letter, signed by the journalists who are listed on the “Myrotvorets” and receive death threats, and the journalists who wish to stop these flagrant violations of human rights, calls on the UNHCHR to condemn the activities of “Myrotvorets.” The Russian Mission to the UN in Geneva joins this call and urges the High Commissioner to pay special attention, duly assess and publicly react to the existence and operation of “Myrotvorets,” which violates human rights and puts people’s lives in jeopardy. NPR is a problem. Good and proper leftists who read Current Affairs may already realize this. “Of course. NPR (Neoliberal Propaganda Radio) is a bastion of establishment groupthink and orthodoxy that gives cover to imperialism and corporate capitalism.” By contrast, readers on the Right who find themselves consuming Current Affairs may have an equally disdainful but entirely different critique. “Of course. NPR is an elitist liberal propaganda cult that serves as a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party, is openly hostile to any conservative voices, and ought to be defunded!”

While it would be expected for Western media to report fully on civilian life taken in the Ukraine by the military of US designated enemy Russia, and for CIA managed Western media1 to avoid reporting civilian loss of life caused by US/NATO military throughout the Third World, people in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America are surely noticing an element of racism with so much media attention given White European lives lost reminding them of the complete absence of compassionate media coverage of the millions of civilian lives lost by peoples of skin of various hues during the many US led neocolonialist wars in their nations since the Second World War.

He pointed out that this use of the term “genocide” by the US and others also constitutes a violation of article 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which “prohibits war propaganda and incitement to racial hatred” and is contrary to the letter and spirit of the UN Charter and of the UNESCO constitution.

A BBC report (6/20/22) last month featured NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg urging the West to “prepare to continue supporting Ukraine in a war lasting for years,” while the head of the British Army, Gen. Patrick Sanders, asserted that the “UK and allies needed to be capable of winning a ground war with Russia.” The frequent Nazi comparisons and Munich references made by Western media paint those who would prefer a negotiated settlement to years of bloodshed, the risk of World War III and nuclear war as “appeasers” of a Hitlerian dictator with genocidal ambitions.
