BlackRock’s rise reveals the dark direction of monopoly capitalism

BlackRock has emerged as the top player in this brutal late-stage neoliberal order, a “vampire squid” that profits from the intensifying exploitation of the proletariat and the overall decay of society. The fact that it’s now the central part of American capitalism has exposed our system for what it is: a plutocracy that’s slowly imploding in on itself and feeding off of the resulting carnage.

The dishonest nihilism of anti-communist propaganda

Necrofuturism is a convenient philosophy for the capitalist ruling class, because it abdicates them of moral responsibility for the ecological catastrophes, wars, and explosions of poverty that the system is taking the world towards. The rising sea levels, the droughts, the refugee crises, the conflicts, the economic unravelings-none of these things make it worthwhile to create a better system. Capitalism can be utilized to positively respond to these crises, the system’s defenders figure. Besides, the alternative is communism, which is unquestionably worse than what capitalism has to offer.

The capitalist “great reset” and the descent into techno-tyranny

The NSCAI explicitly praises the potentials for helping law enforcement that all these new technologies will provide, stating that “police are making convictions based on phone calls monitored with iFlyTek’s voice-recognition technology” and that “police departments are using [AI] facial recognition tech to assist in everything from catching traffic law violators to resolving murder cases.” You can imagine what such a drastic expansion of these surveillance tools will mean for political organizers who represent the “dangerous” ideas that are now being censored so heavily.

Chris Hedges’ counter-revolutionary advice for revolution

The quality of Chris Hedges’ strategic advice about how to defeat capitalism reflects the quality of his commentary about communism. This is because communism is the primary force behind history’s anti-capitalist movements, and therefore how well one assesses it equates to how well they grasp the tools for defeating the bourgeoisie. Naturally, the following parts from Hedges’ writings about communism provide good insights into how he views our present task of revolution:

The profoundly ominous nature of America’s anti-China hysteria

The profoundly ominous nature of America’s anti-China hysteria

There’s something foreboding and eerie about this anti-Chinese frenzy that’s broken out within the U.S. and its vassal countries. It’s like when Germany reacted to its loss of World War I and the Great Depression by blaming Jews and ramping up militarism; an imperialist country, faced with its decline on the world stage and the collapse of its economy, is shifting its reactionary fury onto a manufactured threat.

The start of the great meltdown for industrial civilization

The start of the great meltdown for industrial civilization

Consumer society has tried to legitimize itself by making people believe that it represents a sustainable way of living. For those in the First World, all the evidence that a meltdown is coming-the deterioration of the climate, the decline of the biosphere, the diminishing of available resources-has usually existed outside of immediate view. Commercialism and the mass media, which have gained an unprecedented presence in our lives through the digital revolution, have distracted us from these realities while the machine of global capital has continued to run.
