Notes on The Heritage Foundation, Trump’s Son-in-Law, and Albania

Earlier, I had forgotten to mention that the Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK), an Iranian dissident group backed by the U.S. and Israel, is based in Albania. Additionally, Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, is also attempting to develop a luxury resort on Sazan Island in Albania. Sibel Edmonds has been investigating the Kushner-Albanian connection on her Patreon, although I haven’t been following it closely. Seeing DeSmog’s revelation that the Heritage Foundation had attempted to influence the latest Albania election prompted me to think about it, but it slipped my mind when I made that post. It’s worth noting that Kushner has ties to both George Soros and Peter Thiel. As George Carlin famously said, “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”

On a related note, since Sibel came up: Nima of Dialogue Works reported that Graham Fuller has died. Fuller was a key figure in the early establishment of “East Turkestan.” He authored a 1998 RAND report titled The Xinjiang Project, later revised in 2003 as The Xinjiang Problem, outlining the strategic value of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region in the broader effort to encircle China.

Just over four years ago, the U.S.-backed government in Afghanistan rapidly collapsed, marking the end of a two-decade effort to transform the country. The final days of U.S. involvement proved bizarrely emblematic of the tragedy that had unfolded up to that point. Afghans clinging to a U.S. airplane tumbled from the sky to their deaths. A suicide bomb left 13 U.S. service members and 170 Afghans dead. A U.S. drone killed seven children in what the U.S. military ineptly mischaracterized as a “righteous strike.” Good intentions and moral high ground gave way to national embarrassment.

We have seen this play out before, the United States government relentlessly acting to control the government in a former Soviet Union republic bordering Russia and then proceeding to support that government in war against Russia. That course of action has led to devastation in Ukraine, including the deaths of hundreds of thousands of individuals, in a US proxy war against Russia. Through Monday approval in the United States House of Representatives of the Mobilizing and Enhancing Georgia’s Options for Building Accountability, Resilience, and Independence Act (MEGOBARI Act) by a vote of 349 to 42, the House took a big step toward a replay of this disaster in Georgia.
