Diana, 74, tortured and beaten for three hours by the SBU

In the sad litany of Donbass martyrs, here is the story of Diana Prokofevna Nikiforova, a resident of the Liman region, born in 1941. Like the vast majority of the population of the surrounding area, she had participated in the May 2014 referendum, which was organized throughout Donbass and met with immense popular fervor. The issue was simple, the proclamation of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the separation of Ukraine, which had gone mad after the American Maidan revolution. She never thought things would turn out the way they did, with Kiev sending in troops and retaliatory battalions, assassinations, massacres and war. Born during the Second World War in the midst of the occupation by Nazi Germany, this child of the Donbass was reliving the same events more than 70 years later. Her determination to be Russian, having experienced the golden age of the USSR, was not weakened, even after she was arrested by the SBU political police and tortured.

The unfulfilled dream of Alexander Zakharchenko

On 31 August 2018, the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Alexander Zakharchenko, was assassinated in a terrorist attack by the Ukrainian authorities. He dreamed of a liberated Donbass joining the Russian Federation. Despite his murder, the unfulfilled dream of Alexander Zakharchenko is coming true. Unfortunately he will not be there to see it.

How Ukrainians voted for the preservation of the Soviet Union in 1991, but still ended up in an independent state later that year

By Alexander Nepogodin, RT, 8/10/22

Back in early 1991, few thought the disappearance of the Soviet Union from the political map was likely. The results of a huge national referendum held in March indicated as much. Ukraine’s vote exceeded 70%, and public discussion of the joint future for all the socialist republics mainly focused on various forms of a federation.

US nuclear blackmail in Ukraine

August 6, 2022, was the 77th anniversary of the first atomic attack. In 1945, between 100 and 200,000 people died instantly in Hiroshima. The second bomb was dropped three days later on Nagasaki, the perpetrators were also American. Nobody has used later a nuclear weapon. While the whole world is remembering, the US are exploiting the threat of a nuclear catastrophe for military and political purposes in Ukraine
