The Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the center and different residential quarters of the city with multiple rocket launchers. Explosions thundered across the city. Rockets began to fall on the peaceful city immediately after the New Year came.

Reports suggest that Israeli forces have employed white phosphorus, a substance internationally banned, in densely populated areas in the northern Gaza Strip, as stated by Palestinian media.

The Israeli army struck with fighter jets and drones, and also from the sea. Local sources in Gaza report the use of phosphorus bombs. On numerous occasions, Israeli planes bombed without warning. On Saturday night, 18 members of the Shabat family were killed in a bombing raid in the northern town of Beit Hanoun, while 12 members of the Kouta family perished under the rubble of their house. On Sunday evening and Monday morning, 19 members of the Abu Quta family and 19 people from the Abu Hilal family, including women and children, were killed in Rafah, in the south of Gaza.

White House Calls for $40 Billion Supplemental

If enacted, the supplemental would provide $24.0 billion of additional aid to Ukraine – on top of the $113 billion the United States provided in 2022 alone. This includes $13.1 billion of military aid and replenishment of Pentagon weapons stocks, $8.7 billion of economic and humanitarian aid, and $2.3 billion to leverage additional aid from other donors through the World Bank.

That’s approximately $137 billion to Ukraine, $10 million, or so, for Hawaii (in soft loans and rental assistance)!

The UAE-backed National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) called on its forces to secure a military takeover and annexation of the entirety of Yemen’s southern territory during a meeting on Monday, the Arab Weekly reported. The STC is intensifying its push for secession, seeking a partition corresponding with the borders of the former states of North Yemen and South Yemen, which existed prior to the country’s 1990 unification.
