On February 22, two days before Russian troops entered the Ukraine, the U.S. and the EU put reams of sanctions onto Russia. They also confiscated some $300 billion of Russia’s reserves that were invested in the ‘west’. The sanctions had been negotiated between the EU and the U.S. and prepared for over several months.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Friday morning that just 263,000 jobs were added in the month of September, down from 315,000 in August. The total of new jobs matched the previous low, in April of 2021, for monthly job creation over the past 20 months.

The ousted junta leader, [Paul-Henri Sandaogo] Damiba, was widely seen as too closely linked to France.
