Today I present to you and to the people and the nation my last government report and I do so more convinced than ever that the best of Mexico is its people, heirs of civilizations that flourished long before the arrival of the European invaders. Thanks to the roots of those pre-Hispanic cultures of that deep Mexico, the Mexicans of today are, in their vast majority, hard-working, supportive and honest. The legacy of good principles that were transmitted from generation to generation and that have not disappeared – despite oppression, classism and racism – is what distinguishes us and places us as a country of virtues and greatness.
We came to visit the Kiselev family. Dmitry is a single father. He has two children. Dmitry’s wife died during childbirth. His daughter Maria was born premature. We brought them food, detergents, hygiene products, medicines and toys for children. Thanks to everyone who supports our foundation! // Мы приехали в гости к семье Киселевых. Дмитрий – отец-одиночка. У него двое детей. Жена Дмитрия умерла во время родов. Его дочь Мария родилась недоношенной. Мы привезли им продукты, моющие средства, средства гигиены, лекарства и игрушки для детей. In recent years, much has been made of declining birth rates around the world, particularly in western countries. Whilst occasionally some fears are expressed about how this may impact social care for pensioners, the most common reaction tends to be a dismissive: “So what? The planet has too many people anyway.”
