He also said there would be no new tariffs as long as China negotiates in good faith.”
Already showing signs that it might fall through. Lighthizer’s phrasing, “as long as China negotiates in good faith,” is similar to Mike Pompeo’s taunts towards Iran, such as the U.S. won’t negotiate with them until they act like a “normal nation.” Laughable, if you know the true history of the American government intervening in Iran’s business!

China’s viewpoint:
We believe as long as the US side is realistic, it is possible that such a strategic impetus can be formed and gradually expanded. The trade war is not an effective way to resolve the strategic competition between China and the US.
