Senior Pakistani journalist, Arshad Sharif, who was recently assassinated in Kenya, had been tortured before he was shot in the head and right lung from point-blank range, Dunya TV has reported.

It was discovered that Sharif’s Kenyan visa had been sponsored by Khurram and Waqar Ahmed who also hosted him, and who owned the shooting range near where he was discovered dead. On Tuesday it was reported that Arshad Sharif had dined with at least 10 American shooting instructors on the final day of his life.

According to new guidelines expected to come into force on Monday, foreigners will be required to inform the Israeli Defense Ministry if their romantic relationship with a resident of the West Bank is getting serious – including plans to live together, get engaged or marry – to receive or extend an entry permit. The restrictions do not apply to those visiting Israeli settlements.

A couple of weeks before Vladimir Putin announced his ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine, he met in the Kremlin with Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz. At their joint press conference following the meeting, Putin mentioned in passing that Ukraine is controlled today by neo-Nazis. This remark was famously ridiculed by Scholz as “laughable,” thereby earning for him the Kremlin’s utter contempt. German-Russian relations have undergone a sharp deterioration ever since, with Germany gradually stepping up its supplies of cutting-edge lethal weaponry to Kiev and Russia, in its internal political discussions, placing Germany alongside the United States and Britain as de facto ‘co-belligerents’ which may be subjected to Russian missile attacks if the war escalates further.
