Moslem MP branded a terrorist. Is there a fair go?

Moslem MP branded a terrorist. Is there a fair go?

If Shaoquett Moselmane was a white Christian MP from the Liberal Party or the NSW Nationals his life would be so much simpler. But he is the first Moslem MP in the history of the NSW Parliament, Australia’s first and oldest parliamentary institution, an outspoken friend of China, Palestine, indigenous Australians and refugees. He is a critic of the ratbag minority who are consumed by anti-Islam hatred.

I had a feeling that there was more to this story. Sad!

On another note, anyone else notice that the Chinahawks are also Zionists?!

Michael Pack Stands His Ground Amid D.C. Firestorm

One article asked whether Trump is putting “fascists in charge of the Voice of America,” even though Pack is Jewish, as are several of the other top officials he’s brought into front-office positions.

Critics have also assailed Pack for installing interim heads of the USAGM media outlets, including Jeffrey Shapiro, who several media reports have cast as a Bannon ally, as leading the Office of Cuba Broadcasting – at least in an interim basis. Bannon made himself an easy target with several recent comments suggesting he could be involved in USAGM decision-making. Pack dismisses the notion that Bannon is playing or angling to play an influential role in running the agency – either officially or in an informal advisory capacity.

Trump turns on colleges, colleges on human rights

Trump turns on colleges, colleges on human rights

In March, Columbia’s President Lee Bollinger made headlines, particularly in the right-wing media, for his statement tying the planned referendum to anti-Semitism.

Bollinger’s argument was convoluted.

Although it did not directly accuse those supporting the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement of anti-Semitism, it strongly suggested that very connection. Bollinger claimed that “when there is rising anti-Semitism in this country and around the world, even a single instance of it in any context is more alarming than it might otherwise be.”

In doing so, he not only voiced his own disapproval of the referendum but effectively sided with one group of students – those who support Israel on campus – at the expense of another – Palestinians, Arabs and those in solidarity – presumably out of a fear of upsetting donors, graduates and, worse yet, the US government.
