The US has funded exit polls abroad because, state dept. officials testified, it is one of the few ways to expose and ascertain the extent of large-scale fraud. Indeed, discrepancies between exit polls and the official results have been used to successfully overturn election results in Serbia, Peru, the Republic of Georgia and, in November 2004, Ukraine [Orange Revolution].

The deported delegation was composed of PP spokesperson Miguel Tellado, PP Congresswomen Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Macarena Montesinos, and Belén Hoyo, Member of European Parliament Juan Salafranca, and Senators Juanjo Matari and Alfonso Serrano. They were accompanied by Portuguese MEP Sebastiao Bugalho. All these European far-right politicians have deep connections with the Venezuelan far-right, especially with María Corina Machado and Leopoldo López, and are openly against the Bolivarian Revolution and Chavismo.
Translation: “We have welcomed the electoral experts of the African Union, invited by the @cneesvzla, who are serving as observers to monitor this Sunday’s elections. During our conversations, we discussed the extensive guarantees offered by the Venezuelan electoral system, recognized as one of the most sophisticated in the world.”
