Tucker Carlson interviews Douglas Macgregor

“The Ukrainian Army is not winning. In fact,” argued retired U.S. Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, “it’s losing badly. Ukraine is being destroyed. Its population is being slaughtered in lopsided battles with a technologically superior enemy or scattered by the millions to the rest of the globe as refugees. Ukraine is running out of soldiers.”

“As that happens, the question will inevitably arise who’s gonna replace them? If the Ukrainians can’t beat Putin, who will? The answer, of course, will be us. American troops will fight the Russian army in Eastern Europe. That’s most likely. And the assumption is we’ll win. But will we win?” the former primetime host wondered before bringing in Macgregor.

The colonel reported that at least 40,000 Ukrainian men had been killed in just the last month bringing the total estimate to around 400,000 since Russia had invaded in Feb. 2022. “We don’t even know how many people have been wounded, but we know probably upwards of 40- to 50,000 soldiers are amputees.”

“We know the hospitals are full,” he added before noting that many “Ukrainian units at the platoon and company level,” measuring from 50 to 200 men at a time, have been surrendering to the Russians for the sake of the wounded “because they can’t fight anymore.”

“All of this happens in a way that is just not reported in the West. And in the meantime, rather than admit that this is a terrible tragedy that should be ended, on humanitarian grounds if no other, that the killing should stop — as President Trump said ‘Stop the killing,’ we’re gonna continue,” lamented Macgregor. “And this puts the Russians in the unhappy position of marching further west.”

It was later suggested that the Russians had not been initially prepared for the conflict, but had since amassed around 750,000 troops in and around their neighboring nation and could grow to a force as large as 1.2 million over the next year.

Meanwhile, Macgregor slammed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “and the radicals around him” who’ve “basically committed to fighting this war to the last Ukrainian. And of course, I’m sure that Mr. Zelenskyy and friends are anxious at some point to retire to their estates in Florida, or Venice or Cyprus to collect on the billions that they’ve managed to steal or siphon from all the aid that we’ve provided. Remember, Ukraine is probably one of the most corrupt places in the world.”

Good interview except when Tucker brings up Sarah Ashton-Cirillo. You don’t have to agree with her (I don’t) but Tucker didn’t need to feed the flames of the culture war. At least, Macgregor didn’t take the bait.

That day, President Ibrahim Bare Mainassara and five other people were shot dead at the airport, a mutiny by his presidential guard. But there was no international outcry, no evacuation of Americans and Europeans. Jocelyn was told to stay put in the small community where she was living. Life went on as usual.

Turse explained in a recent article that in 2002 and 2003, the first years of US counterterrorism assistance to Niger, the State Department counted just nine terrorist attacks in all of Africa.

This represents a jump of more than 30,000 percent since the US began its counterterrorism efforts,” Turse wrote.

This was barely reported in America’s corporate media, which spews constant propaganda about Russian threats to prepare the public for nuclear war.

US Soldier Travis King seeks Asylum in DPR Korea for Racial Discrimination

On July the 18th Juche 112 (2023) Travis King, 2nd class private of the US Army in south Korea illegally intruded into the territory of the DPRK in the joint security area of Panmunjom.

Looking around the joint security area of Panmunjom together with tourists at around 3:30 pm on July the 18th, King intentionally intruded into our area between the DPRK and US military contact room and resting room of military police officers to be caught by the soldiers of the Korean People’s Army on duty.

According to an investigation of an organ concerned, Travis King admitted that he illegally intruded into the territory of the DPRK.

During the investigation he confessed that he decided to come over to the DPRK opposed to inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination in the US army.

Saying he was disillusioned at the unequal American society he expressed his will to seek political asylum either in the DPRK or in third country.

The investigation continues.

Last week, the Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, traveled to neighboring Pakistan at the head of a large delegation. During the visit, many security issues were discussed, with the situation in Afghanistan seeming to be one of them. This is evident from the fact that Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s presidential envoy for Afghanistan, accompanied the foreign minister during the three-day visit.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez set to tour Latin America with a group of congressional Democrats

The agenda (which has not yet been made public) is expected to include meetings with Presidents Lula da Silva (Brazil), Gabriel Boric (Chile) and Gustavo Petro (Colombia) and parliamentary representatives. The legislators will also meet with civil society organizations that work “on the frontlines of ecological transitions, democratic transformations and peace negotiations in the countries,” the delegation explains in a joint statement. The trip seeks to “promote a U.S.-Latin American relationship based on mutual respect, understanding and a commitment to cooperation.”

Ocasio-Cortez, a key figure in the Democratic Party’s most progressive wing, and Misty Rebik, Sanders’s chief of staff (sent on behalf of the 81-year-old veteran senator), will be joined by four congressmen: Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar (both from Texas), Nydia Velázquez (New York) and Maxwell Frost (Florida), who is the youngest congressman in the House of Representatives at 26. Castro is a member of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, which is part of the Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee. He recently spearheaded a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken to pressure Peru’s President Dina Boluarte over human rights violations occurring in that country. Casar is in his first term as a congressman and belongs to the Progressive Caucus, while Velazquez became the first Puerto Rican woman to serve in Congress in 1993.

The defense of democracy is another ideal that guides the trip. According to the congresspeople, the “twin” insurrections on Capitol Hill, on January 6, 2021, and in Brasilia (on January 8, 2023) “made it clear that the fate of democracy in the United States is closely tied to that of its southern neighbors. “[Our] democracies,” they believe, “not only share the challenge of defending their institutions from political violence, disinformation and other forms of anti-democratic intervention; they also share the challenge of restoring confidence in the ability of those institutions to meet citizens’ fundamental needs.”

Ocasio-Cortez highlights another goal of the trip: exploring how to “confront disinformation and violent threats to our democracies.” The charismatic congresswoman adds that “it’s long past time for a realignment of the United States’ relationship to Latin America. The U.S. needs to publicly acknowledge the harms we’ve committed through interventionist and extractive policies, and chart a new course based on trust and mutual respect.”
